Ms. Akers serves as a Senior Attorney providing our clients legal representation on business & estate planning, probate, as well as oil & gas matters. As a former corporate vice-president for New York Life Insurance Company and in house counsel for an oil & gas company, along with her private practice experience, Ms. Akers has the expertise to assist high net worth individuals as well as families needing simple wills. Ms. Akers has earned an advanced legal degree in estate planning and elder law with an LLM from Western New England University, as well as her Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, now Texas A&M School of Law.

Caroline is admitted to practice in the State of Texas as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States. She is a published author and presenter in the area of oil & gas as it relates to estate planning. She worked as an Editor for legal publisher, Thomson Reuters, developing Texas Practical Law resources for estate planning and probate attorneys.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Waco Civic Theatre. In addition, she has held leadership positions in New York Life Insurance Company’s Advisory Council for Planning Consultants, the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, the NBA Development League, North Texas Make-a-Wish, Dallas Bar Association, and Court Appointed Special Advocates. She was selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters Service, in 2009 -2012, 2014.
